The 17th International Bio-Fermentation Exhibition Opens | Prio Showcases Food-Grade Silicone Defoamers and Polyether Defoamers in Hangzhou

Release time:

2026-09-21

From September 21 to 23, the 17th International Biofermentation Exhibition was held at the Hangzhou International Expo Center. As a key platform for industry exchange in biofermentation, food processing, and related sectors, this year’s event brought together numerous companies and professionals to discuss the development and applications of fermentation technologies, food-processing innovations, and associated supporting products.

Shandong Prio Water Treatment Technology Co., Ltd. showcased food-grade silicone defoamers, polyether defoamers, and other products at the exhibition, engaging in face-to-face discussions with industry clients to address foam-control needs in production processes such as fermentation and food processing.
Prio food-grade defoamer makes its debut at the exhibition.
During fermentation and food processing, stirring, aeration, temperature increases, and the raw materials themselves can all generate substantial foam. Excessive foam not only occupies valuable equipment space but may also lead to overflow, disrupt production continuity, and create operational challenges on the shop floor.
For different production systems, Prio offers food-grade silicone defoamers, polyether defoamers, and other products, allowing for product selection and application testing tailored to various process conditions.
Among these, silicone‑based defoamers offer rapid defoaming and are well suited to production processes that require quick foam control; polyether‑based defoamers, on the other hand, can provide both defoaming and foam‑stabilizing effects depending on the specific system. In practical applications, selection should take into account factors such as the production process, temperature, pH, and the underlying causes of foaming.

Why does the fermentation industry need specialized antifoaming agents?
During fermentation, continuous aeration and agitation are typically required, which can readily generate foam. If the foam is not promptly controlled, it may reduce the effective working volume of the fermenter and, in severe cases, even lead to material overflow.
Therefore, when selecting antifoaming agents in the fermentation industry, it is essential to consider not only the defoaming rate but also the foam‑suppressing duration, dosage, dispersibility, and compatibility with the production system.
In the food processing sector, the requirements for antifoaming products must also be verified in light of specific process conditions and regulatory mandates. When procuring such products, companies should select formulations tailored to their particular application scenarios and validate the recommended usage protocol through laboratory-scale trials or on-site testing.
From product R&D to manufacturing, Prio has continuously refined its defoamer product portfolio.
Prio has long been dedicated to the R&D, production, and technical services of water treatment chemicals and defoamers. Its product portfolio includes silicone defoamers, polyether defoamers, polyether-modified silicone defoamers, polyether ester defoamers, and high-carbon alcohol defoamers, meeting defoaming needs across various industrial processes.
