Prio Water Treatment & Qilu University of Technology Joint R&D Project for Industrial Water Treatment
Project Background
Shandong, as a major province in China’s chemical industry, boasts dense industrial clusters and enormous production scales. As the industry continues to develop at a rapid pace, the pressure on water resource consumption and the treatment of complex industrial wastewater with intricate compositions is becoming increasingly prominent. Achieving a green transformation and sustainable development has thus become a central issue that affects regional ecological security and the future of the industry. Traditional water treatment technologies are now facing new challenges, such as high concentrations, difficult-to-degrade substances, and high salinity levels, making it urgently necessary to rely on technological innovation to provide Solutions that are more efficient, more cost-effective, and smarter. Against this backdrop, the collaboration between Prio Water Treatment Company and Qilu University of Technology has emerged. The two parties have jointly established a research and development laboratory—a collaborative model that serves as a key initiative for closely integrating “industry, academia, research, and application.” This partnership is dedicated to swiftly translating cutting-edge theoretical findings from the lab into practical technologies that can be directly applied in industrial settings, thereby providing core technological support for the green upgrading of Shandong’s—and indeed the nation’s—chemical industry.
Core R&D Project:
1. Research and Development and Engineering Application of New Environmentally Friendly Water Treatment Agents
2. Research on Corrosion and Scaling Prevention Technologies for Industrial Water Treatment Equipment in Multi-Media Environments
3. System-wide Corrosion and Scaling Risk Assessment and Pre-control Strategies Based on Source-Driven Design
4. Research and Development of an Integrated Technology for Highly Efficient Demulsification and Separation of Oil-Containing Wastewater in the Chemical Industry
